Opportunities for Applied Learning

The Department of Communication offers students hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. From contributing to campus media outlets to gaining real-world experience through internships and teaching assistantships, students can sharpen their skills and prepare for their future careers.

Communication students can further develop their skills with a number of on-campus, student-run media, including:

• , an FCC licensed radio station
• , a weekly campus newspaper
• The League of Storytellers, where students tell the stories of 91ºÚÁÏÍø using multimedia applications. The stories from the League of Storytellers are available .

Students are invited to apply to become teaching assistants. Students who move forward in that position will enroll in COMN 496: Teaching Practicum in Communication.
